I have been wondering what the small attachement on my dashboard does for a while now - always assumed it was something to do with the bluetooth adaptor but have now discovered a port on the bottom!!

I pulled the front off and hey presto - a part no...
A203 623 00 30

What is this for???

Thanks

Simon

Its not in EPC. However, A203 823 00 30 is, and its the cover for the UHI connector. Take it off and plug in the bluetooth cradle to the connector below - your car has phone pre-wiring.

Talk to alfie (comand.co.uk) (pm him on this forum) he can supply you a MB bluetooth cradle at chunk less than MB retail price.

[edit - NB, you can also add cradles for different phones, see my uhicradles document on www.mercupgrades.com

Out of interest what difference would the cradle make as I can currently use the phones I have via bluetooth anyway? Would it then allow me to use the buttons on the wheel as these currently don't do anything nd I have to push the nokia button next to my gear leaver to answer/hang up?

Ok, your car has integrated phone system, this means you add a cradle, or the bluetooth cradle, and you get to a) use steering wheel buttons b) see phone status, last numbers called, phone book in the cluster telephone screen,. c) if you have comand use it all from there also.

But, someone has also added an aftermarket Nokia bluetooth kit for some reason - which is what the nokia button is.

The integrated system works nicely with the car, and is about 500 quid option...

[edit, i;ve assumed that the cradle connector was not fitted by someone else for some strange reason = normally the cradle connector ends up in the center glovebox, but it does get fitted to the center tunnel upright thing for some cars]

Thanks mate.

Seems strange to me that the previous owner would pay for an option of the integrated system then add an aftermarket kit as well. How would I go about getting a cradle then - is it something I can get on the cheap in ebay? Or do I need to shell out hundreds from MB?

They are on Ebay most of the time, check to see the number of the one that fits your car
