First question is i bought a set of staggered 18" Monoblocks for my C43. Before i send them off for a proper refurb i put some tyres on and tried them on for size.

First thing i noticed is that the 9J rear wheels are a different make but the same part number

Not the end of the world, but has anyone else came across this

Then tried them on the car, rear wheels fit fine and sit well. But the front wheels need a 3mm spacer to clear the W209 CLK55 Brembo brakes. Can be done but now the wheels on the front are too far out.
The original front 17" AMG's were a ET35 and these 18" AMG's are a ET31 which now become a ET28 with a spacer :(

The ET of 47 is likely to mean the wheel will foul on suspension components.

What sizes are the wheels you have bought?

The problem is all down to the brakes not affording you the bodywork clearance you need for that style of rim.

I think there was a 8 x 18 with an offset of 41, cant be sure though.

This is why i want to try a W140 8.5J x 18 Monoblock on my car to see if it fouls anything, if anyone has one.

I have the W210 E55 staggered monoblocks, front is 8J x 18 ET31 :thumb:

I know mate, i am not changing the brakes back again so will find another solution to the problem. Worst way will see if the outside edge of the caliper can be skimmed slightly, if i can't find the same wheel with a different offset.

That maybe ideal mate, if i could find two :D
