Any one here make apps?

I might know of someone if required - do you have any specifics...

I'm still interested in having a iPad related booking system that links up with the iPhone and mac.

I've tried google calendar but it's just not fast enough.

you will want that to link in with your office back end,... there are some systems that do this, we have been looking into it but its not especially cheap.

Economies of scale here chaps? Bet there are others also.

If it's a straightforward booking system, then FileMaker Pro for you Mac/PC and iPad may be your solution.

I would like it to work exactly like a paper diary. Using a pen on a piece of paper.

Can't you use iCal and sync them all up using Cloud ?

Several such signature capture plug-ins are available for Filemaker, such as this example...

GoSign 2.0 – Advanced Signature Capture Control for FileMaker Go

I've been looking for something like this also, although it needs to support a database also. Liked the look of Filemaker - then saw how much it would cost to get desktop, App, and Server coverage.

Ouch!

Filemaker Go for iPad is FREE.

Buy a single copy of Filemaker Pro Advanced for £329 (retail). If you have a child currently in education it's £197.

The advantage of the advanced over the standard version is that you can create runtime versions for deployment over multiple Mac/PC's without requiring the Filemaker application.

That is, you do not have to purchase multiple copies of Filemaker for all the Mac/PC's in your workplace/organisation.

Will the ipad version sync with the desktop version?

Filemaker is a great application and is very flexible. It is particularly good for creating forms to display onscreen and for printing. Adding logos & images is easy. You can add photos, URLs & PDFs to the database as well. It's also easy to send emails from Filemaker so you could email reminders, invoices & etc

I used to spend about half my time building applications in Filemaker. If you define the job accurately, resist the temptation to make it too complex and document the system it is cost-effective and very easy to live with

The best thing about it is that, done right, you don't think of it as using Filemaker - it's just using an application to help do your job
