Stuff ECP. I go here for all my fluids although I have to say you might get a good deal on consumables from Western if you ask.

Pentland Component Parts Ltd. have a place at Sighthill and one in Leith. Nicer guys as well.

You sure theyve not just banned you ! They seem to have lost their edge on availability since they started doing french stuff too , used to be better on price IMHO.

not only me...

Cheers. I'll ask them. Do they do Bosh?
Yep, ECP is not doing good ( to me).

Yes they'll do Bosch but you have to insist and it's a special order so usually not cheap. The Bosch agent in Edinburgh is Dingbro (also Sighthill) and they are definitely trade although I've chanced my arm in the past with a pair of 'works' overalls on and succeeded. You need to have 'worked' for Forth Ports. ;)

How did you Know I worked there :thumb:
Cheers. What do we need to do to get a filter at a dscent price...

Dingbro are a PITA we use them for as little as poss now as they can't keep to deals on prices from one day to the next!

It often works out cheaper for us to buy the stuff from our local motor factor in Somerset & ship it to McSmarts in Airdrie than use Dingbro!

Dingbro are excellent compared to Partco!!

Just today they sent wrong brake shoes for a VW polo, then after specifically asking for non powdered nitrile gloves, what did they send? powdered latex gloves... and thats only 1 morning. This goes on every day...

We use Euro in Edinburgh, and have to say they've been pretty good. Much preferred the Glasgow branch though, before Edinburgh opened.

Sorry, Sam runs McSmarts (Smart indie in Cumbernauld) might get him to call ECP as they have been recommended for trade, not much use to you though as I don't know when/if he'll get an account set up.

Very strange - Edinburgh is the only branch marked as trade only on the store locator page. Agree with the above, Glasgow branch is excellent.

Edinburgh has only recently become trade only - used to sell to retail customers quite happily .

I wonder if this is something they are thinking of extending to other branches ?

Surely they are going to lose a lot of business?

Olivier for filters just go to any local motor factor thats where i get all mine from.

For items like filters , the dealership will still be competitive .

A little background to Eurocarparts and its founder Sukhpal-Singh here.

My guess is like Derek that many of their branches/counters may become trade only, and the bulk of their business with the general public will be via the internet. That would be a retrograde step IMHO since they won't supply certain items by courier? :dk:
However their loss may be GSF'S gain?;) Maybe no co-incidence there's no GSF branch in Edinburgh, unlike Glasgow?

ECP: yeah i went there maybe about 2 months ago - door locked and a sign on it saying delivery only.

i got an airfilter (amongst loads of other stuff) from Willobrae Rd Dealer at a very good price in the past.

i agree, MB dealer is good for filters...

i also have been to the pentland components place in leith that Druk recommended - fantastic place. A bit like Halfords but much cheaper and without the Ripspeed/blue LED tosh.
