I'm thinking of having a minor dent taken out of a wheel but all my wheels are showing slight corrosion.
My wheels need to be diamond cut in certain places and because of this they never last as long.
Maybe I should get them sprayed one colour and sacrifice the shiny diamond cut???
Any feedback on the company below?...

do a search for BJV on here..

I wasnt impressed but many others on this forum still use them regularly...

Apparently BJV's polished finishes arent great.

I read somewhere that these people are one of the very few that do the diamond cut very well.

I was going to use them, but eventually used Spit & Polish as i decided to ditch the diamond cut and just get them sprayed for durability.

Diamond cut looks fantastic but unfortunately doesn't last that long without problems and they look really bad when they go off.

The way to go is with Chrome paint, I am ashamed to say that my Volvo wheels from 1998 made a fool out of me.

I thought and told everyone that Volvo can do wheels that do not blister up under the lacquer, it was only after some 8 years that I clipped a kerb and found them to be chrome paint.

90% of the new cars have this paint, you do not have to go as dark as that what is used on some cars

Chrome paint doesn't last very long, its a wet paint and unfortunately if it chips or you hit the kerb the paint does peel/flake.

Their finish is fine, just stick to one colour, their diamond cut doesn't last more than 6 months.

I'm yet to find a wheel refurb that offers more than 6 month guarentee on the diamond cut finishes.

Sorry but chrome paint is now powder,as I understand it going by the firms that do it and my wheels are still great for 10 years old

I stand corrected, most firms i use are wet paint for the shinier finish. How shiny is the powder coated chrome?

I know silver/metallic silver/ sterling silver are powder coated but wasn't aware the chrome were as well. The chaps i use use wet paint but use the same baking process as powder coating, but the finish isn't as durable.

Would chrome paint be an idea for the AMG splits in the future ? I find myself washing my wheels gone midnight sometimes just to keep the pitting away..

Its a tough fight too... you only have to say the word rain and they go all white..

After you wash the car spray some silicone spray grease just on the lip (make sure it doesn't get onto your discs!) Otherwise you can buy a product called Muc Off Motocylce protectant. Its designed to go onto polished parts of bikes and stop pitting.

Chrome paint won't look a patch on a polished lip. Its the beauty of the 3 pc wheels.

With modern techniques you can do wonders with fading and shading with chrome based paints If I get a chance in the morning I will put a pic of a 10 year old wheel that has not been looked after that well

Which firm do you use for wheel refurbs?

Hmm this sounds interesting... So i can change the colour of my alloys and they'll stay like that? or will they wear over time? (i'm a bit of a newbie on this case so bear with me)

Its poured down all day,, just been out and took the wheel shot in the dark

the house pic was not taken to capture the car but the wheels do look bright and the car has not been cleaned

they are 10 years old
