Anyone remapped a C220CDI estate?

Hi,
I'm thinking of getting my new C220CDI (W204 I think?) estate remapped but would like some feedback or advice first.
Has anyone had their W204 done and what were the results?
Would it give similar performance to the C250CDI?

Everyone i know who has ever remapped their ECU has not regretted it, me included. I'll be remapping my Merc soon as well.

Does anyone know if it would compare to the c250cdi?

According to the headline figures - almost exactly

eg. Mercedes benz cdi vito sprinter diesel tuning performance system

but not sure whether it would be more peaky than a c250cdi you'd have to look for some torque curves. Still it would give more power/torque to the c220cdi irrespective.

The Brabus ones are v.expensive but they are warrantied. If it's your own car then that's a big plus.

Yeah right! How much would that cost?!!!

Its about £1500 or so for the D3 upgrade.

Not bad considering the warranty will be void on the car if you don't get them to do it

Is there any info out there regarding the Brabus upgrade mentioned above? What is the warranty thingy?
My car is on finance so I guess I can do what I want with it...can't I?

Rumours are that chipping/remapping will be an MOT failure in the future, along with DIY HID/xenon headlights.

I can't see any reason whatsoever to assume that a remap automatically means MOT failure. As long as your emissions are OK its no different to any other performance enhancing activity. How will they be able to tell?

I got my 320 done at Celtic Tuning, just over £300, very pleased

Mine has just passed its MOT - emissions all ok so they have no idea its been remapped.

Got mine done at Angel Tuning - loving it...

I would say go for this one Kleemann KD-Box for Mercedes C200/220 CDI/Bluetec(W204): eBay Motors (item 290472196704 end time Dec-04-10 10:03:56 PST) but you should take it of when you take the car for a service,an it will efect your warranty

I'm not 100% - but that Kleeman looks suspiciously like the "spider" tuning box - the box itself, the cable-loom and even the little LED (the grey box) to prove that power is available and that the ECU is shut down before fitting.

looks like a premium in price becuase of the kleeman brand?
