Cracking show, one of the few TV programmes that will never see the like again. Try watching a music video these days and you'll get dizzy from constant shot changes. No wonder kids have such a short attention span.

When 'The Fast Show' did their Jazz Club sketches it actually reminded me of what I didn't like about Whistle Test. My recollection was that they introduced somebody you had never heard either as if you should of heard of them or by referring to other bands and artists you'd never heard of ..... but should of

I guess if you read NME regularly then you were their target audience.
 
OGWT was the only tv music prog to play the sort of music I was into. Because they were album tracks, not singles, not in the pop chart

I have never read NME. Got to know about the artists/albums from mates or attending gigs. There was no huge publicity machine pushing these artists, it was all about the music
 
Whitenemesis has it spot on.

OGWT was about a hundred squillion times better than the X Factory karaoke contest.
