Are members allowed a main dealer discount ?

I would be suprised! It says at the bottom of the page..

"MBClub UK is in no way affiliated with Mercedes-Benz, DaimlerChrysler or any of their respective trademarks"

But I'll have one if it's going! :D

Just tell them you're a member of the club and expect the usual discount ;)

No lies told, and nothing lost in trying.

Just Ask them. 10% is easy to get. 15% at a push. More if you are a regular / account holder;)

Erm, discount on what?

I automatically get 10% off parts and 40% off labour because of my car's age. Doesn't entitle me to discount on a new car though (AFAIK) ;)

Worth a test/trial..

Illegal advert removed.

MBOC members get 10% discount with their membership number - but you can normally negotiate this or more anyway. They do also get discount on cars from the MB Direct scheme however (SLs excluded I believe).

Inchcape online automatically give discounts of 10 to 15% and delivered to your door (at small charge).

Why didn't I just behave and buy an E-Class...

**sobs over useless discount**

Slightly OT I know but should b
we think about deleting the reference to Chrysler above?

We do not get discounts from Mercedes dealers, or anyone else, except from those members allowed to advertise their own wares.

Equally we do not charge for use of the forum.

I don't know whether it's a dealer thing, or a customer thing. (Actually, I do - I just don't like the answer...)

I have never received a discount when buying (only) parts from a dealer. (I think I did get 10% off the parts when they were doing the servicing as well - but at dealers' labour rates you don't really notice...)

I went to Mercedes-Benz of Bedford yesterday armed with a shopping list of part numbers from EPC. Full of optimism after reading about other members' experiences on here, I asked the parts guy about a discount - and was refused. "There's a 10% discount for members of the official owners' club, and trade discount is only 8%."

He seemed surprised when I said, "I'll leave it, then."
"You'll leave it?"
"Well, I can get 10% from Inchcape online without even asking."
"Oh, OK."

I realise that the dealership is not going to go out of business just because I didn't buy a pair of brake discs and some screen wash today, and I should know by now that it's not possible to visit a Mercedes-Benz dealer without coming away disappointed, but it still annoys me...

Stevenage should offer 10% off parts as part of their fourmore scheme (cars over four years). If you're ever in need of parts urgently it's not a million miles from Bedford.

Thanks - I'll bear that in mind for next time.
