Armour plated 560sel with only 25000 miles

Something not right.

Either that car is not a 560 or the speedo has been changed.

560's have speedo's going upto 170mph markings (the figures stop at 160 but marking's carry on to 170)

This car has one stopping at 160.

Hmmmm.....

I never noticed that, might be because of the extra weight its got to haul around !!:thumb:

I recognise that one, wondering if I saw it when I priced a job on Buckhurst Lane, looking at the seller ID.

Would be worth £250,000 in todays money???

How do they work that one out?

It says "armored", but doesn't say what's included in the "armor"?

Bullet-proof windows? Tougher body? What else?

And what are those things on the wings? Before the front indicators...

Went over to see a friend this week and sitting in his workshops was an armoured 1 Owner RHD 1990 560 LWB in blue/black metallic with only 11k on the clock.

The weight of the doors was incredible and the thickness of the widows was something like 5cm's or more.

That is an extremely cool car but i hope it doesn't fall into the wrong hands.

The trouble with armoured vehicles is that the curve in the armoured windscreen gives a distorted view to the front. It is okay for short period of time but if you have to spend any length of time driving one you may end up with sore eyes, nausea, and a raging headache.

That doesn't like much fun, its reminded of that Billy Connolly joke about prescription windscreens tho.

It's had frontal damage I think? Look at the nearside bonnet gap/alignment in pics 3 & 4, particularly at the front.

That will do about 3 miles to the gallon then with all that extra weight!;)

You`ll hardly notice the difference compared to standard mpg wise, you do feel big and heavy driving one though ;)

The bonnets just sitting high, it may not have been shut properly. Adjustment is very very easy.

However the shut line on the offside is fine:

Therefore something could be amiss, IMO.
