Right folks, as I was headed down to Ollies I thought I'd make a weekend of it, and catch up with an old friend in York, then head down to Ollies. Keith (corned) very kindly had Tim Kemp and I over and we had dinner, before Tim and I convoyed down to Portsmouth on the Friday.

The first stop was York, I made good time and on 44mpg +. We took a wee nosey around the place and had two meals. Just how I like it.

Dinner stop.

Onto Keiths, after getting lost:o and dinner number 3 and a good meal out (the pub was a good shout keith, and the BBQ slow cooked pork). Perfect for a late night cruise down the M1.

The next day was the big event, Ollies bash. To kick things off the all you can eat Breakfast is a must. Tim was meant to make it, but sadly he had a minor altercation that day. None other than scumbag was staying there too, and as Trando was coming to give us a run in the C63 the "63" was the hot topic.

The C63 is very fast, but I new that already, its also very refined when pottering and the ride is not that stiff to be honest. It also can charge forward indecently quickly, but you did not need me to tell you that.

At Ollies:

Star of the show. Tim

Its really not that bad and hopefully you will be back in that car in no time, the sound installation is cracking in it and having followed it, it goes like the effing wind.

However, the star of the show, no pun intended was the F1 car art piece where they took the car apart and suspended it all

I felt the CLS looked like it held up really well.

I also tried the MBworld driving simulator where it demonstates all the pre safe stuff. Its all good and well, but I prefer to do my own accleration and breaking rather than the car. Its good to see it, but its not something I'd ever want.

The engines are tiny in reality and are made in the UK and they provide power to all these

It was really good to see everyone at the meet and well worth the trip. Olly, thanks again for organising a really good day out and bringing us all together for the day. Much appreciated.

Sounds like a great weekend Steve! One day I must attend a GTG! :)

You must, its so much better to get to put faces to names and make friends with folk on the forum.

There is my Scottish driving weekend that I am shamelessly plugging. Take an interesting car and have a weekend driving with your forum mates!!!

Excellent post looks like a cracking weekend.

I'll lookout for the next PCS GTG and get my name down early, I came back to the forum a bit late to get onto this years one.

You do put together a cracking slide show there me old China!!

You are becoming as famous for your photographic outings as your culinary ones , Steve .

I'm sure the 'all you can eat' breakfast was put to the test !

I've heard it was so good, he bought two!!:bannana:

Good to see you again Steve and glad you had a good trip both ways. Did the ISO settings make much difference ?

Nice photos Steve. I wonder how that F1 car would work as a wind chime?

Cheers,

Gaz

Aye, a big one looking through them. Was a wonderful trip and good to see you and everyone as well.

Derek, you know me, I like racking up the miles in the shed. Over 1k miles in 72 hours and was all so comfortable and quite rapid when she needs to be and very frugal. 45mpg back from portsmouth to Helensburgh
