Artico Artificial Leather

Bought a 3 year old C220 cdi 5 years ago wanted leather got artico in beige. A bit miffed but the car is 8 years old now and the interior is as new. Artico has proven to be great, easy clean, no treatments needed and the unwary all think its leather anyway so recommended

I was in the dealership yesterday and was mooching around the new cars. Surprised at how many were spec'd with either cloth or Dinamica(?) a microfibre material. The cloth seats had Artico bolsters, Dinamica had leather.

sorry to high jack your topic but i have these in my car (closes pic of seats I have atm). Are they real leather or fake? They feel and look real

Oh well, Ive always thought its leather, it looks exactly like leather and I cant see the difference.

I have nappa leather in my s class and it's 14 years old and it's like new ..no cracks no hardness just spot on ...I would have the rear seat in my house as a sofa there that nice ..Diffrent strokes for Diffrent folks

You're not helping :-)

I suppose it boils down to whether you are going to regret spending £1000 on real leather or regret sitting on plastic. Leather is better for resale - not in terms of how much extra money you get, but desirablity.

If you like plastic buy a ford there is loads in there but if you want a high class car buy a merc with leather , I really don't under stand why mercedes offer plastic at all ..if there was 2 merc one say 62 plate top of range and 64 plate bottom of the range at same price I would go for 62 plate

Plastic seats

Just about to purchase a c class coupe AMG sport+ with sun roof, nice car but drivers side bolster has split in two places on the outside edge, I thought the seat was part leather like my TT, car has done 32K miles and has really good speck, just can`t bring myself to buy it now I know it has plastic seats, will Merc never learn.

I was told many years ago, that the way to tell leather from non leather was to look at the door cards, if the material was ruffled rather than flat then it had a real leather interior

The best way to get real Mercedes leather is buy an AMG
