Not a Mercedes-Benz, but....
For sale, my 1998 S4 quattro saloon in metallic Agate grey with black interior.
This is an extremely tidy example, original in most respects, but with subtle and choice modifications which keep handling and performance contemporary. This is the original pre-facelift B5 S4 saloon, wearing the original emblem and driving with the pure quattro experience. Competion of the era would have come from the C43 AMG, but the discrete yet purposeful modification of this example results in a car which will out perfrom a C32 AMG.
Particularly outstanding, the genuine mileage of this vehicle is only 53600 miles. With regular use but consistently low annual mileage, this car really feels young. Maintained by an enthusiast the car has not wanted for anything, any parts needing to be renewed due to age or wear have been. Good provenance, full service history and receipts to prove. Always warmed up and down with consideration. Pampered and polished, used, but never abused.
The car is in extremely good condition all round inside and out. The interior is paticularly exceptional, but the drivers seat does have some signs of ageing (that is being critical with the standard set at a high bar). Exterior wise the paint is in very good condition, with barely a stone chip. There are minor marks on the front and rear bumpers, but nothing which really detracts from the car. These are present in the pictures below and would need pointing out to see. The wheels are in great condition with no kerbing whatsoever. Goodyear F1 Asymmetric tyres all round with lots of tread. Brakes all have plenty of life. No advisories on the last MOT. The car is fantastic to drive, pulls hard in every gear at almost any revs and puts a smile on my face every time.
Complete owners wallet and all four keys (two flip keys, one regular key and the wallet key).
Registered 6th November 1998 (UK registered car).
3 prior owners before myself.
MOT until 1st June 2013
Taxed until November 2012
Last oil and filters service and 10K mile inspection in May 2012 (by MRC Tuning).

Modifications
- MRC Tuning custom remap to 335PS and 529Nm (with recent dyno plot).
- Full RS4 exhaust, including downpipes. Pre-cats gutted, retaining the main 200CPI sports cats. Custom tailpipes to fit S4 bumper by RS Fabrications. Exhaust sourced from a low mileage RS4, with mint condition flexi joints etc when fitted. The dyno plot reveals how well this exhaust helps hold the power in the higher rpms while staying road legal and quiet.
- Front brakes: Porsche 993tt Disks and Calipers (Movit conversion). RS4 brake lines.
- Rear brakes: Facelift rear calipers, B6 S4 rear disk conversion. Braided lines.
- ESP Engineering Drive Train Stabiliser (DTS)
