Gentlemen,

AUDIO 50..... NEW. BOXED. E CLASS W 211 MERCEDES on eBay (end time 19-Mar-10 22:04:53 GMT)

My xmas OT has come in and I am thinking of getting this.

Its a lot cheaper than a COMAND and the only reason I want it is so that I can have an aux input in my car for MP3 players. I was told by Alfie that Audio 20 doesnt support this, Audio 50 does, and they can be swapped without trouble. Is this the case.

Does Audio 50 support this aux in? Not so fussed about the nav although it means can sell on my old garmin. Will any additonal work need done on the car.

TIA

Alfie is the expert, but I do not think it has an aux input on the audio 50 APS.

It wont be plug n play on you car
With you car being 2005 , it has Audio 20 with CD , this unit is the MOST master and amp , with Audio 50, Comand andAudio 20 with CC the head unit needs an audio gate way , this will be the MOST master and amp . The audio gate way locates in the boot , and the car will also need a new wiring loom for the audio gate way , the MOST ring will have the be altered and extended into the gate way .

Eeek. Audio50 does not support AUX nor is it plug and play unless you have an early Audio20 cassette head unit. If its audio20 Cd you have then you will need a new loom , AGW and some mounting plates.
