auto wipers-frozen screen

Auto Wiper sensitivity can be adjusted on all MB I’ve owned.

Auto Wiper sensitivity couldn't be adjusted on any MB I’ve owned, well not without STAR and certainly not whilst driving.

All mine have had this over the last 10 years at least

Must remember to set it to O in case it freezes tonight......

Both mine were 2005, I think predating any adjustments?

is that not intermittant wiper speed adjust dial ??

If i remember on mine (bare with me it was a few years ago now) the auto part replaced one of the manual speeds after auto i could either have very slow (intermittent) or very fast.

I remember it being such a pain as the auto never done what it said on the tin for me before and after the new windscreen.

I recall being advised to change the blades as this can help, wipe the sensor area with alcohol on the outside of the screen (or something like that), Mercedes had a crack at calibrating it for me after the windscreen was change as they said it could be that they didn't fix it so no charge. Maybe i was just unlucky with it but either way it put me off looking for them as a feature again.

Now i have full control again and when it's frosty and i put the key in i know i can blame myself for legging to the house without switching the wipers off when it's raining.

I’ve got an old(ish) generation merc (w209) where it’s just off, auto, speed 1 and speed 2. To be fair the auto setting is pretty good, don’t think I’ve ever thought it’s going too fast or not enough. The same cannot be said for the same feature in any of the Audi, VW, or Honda cars I’ve had with the feature.
I’ve also had a few Peugeot’s and Citroen’s and they were totally hopeless.... but at least after you turned the ignition off you’d have to turn the wipers off and on again to re-activate the auto feature.
BMW’s usually work that way too.

Interesting mines always been on auto speed 1 then, didn’t know I could put it on speed 2, may as well eh. Lol

I mean like 1 auto, then manual speed 1 and manual speed 2.
Unless I’m missing something too lol

Nope, you've got it correct.
