Automatic transmission problems

Hi all,
My 2016 C Class has recently had an issue where it seems to over rev and subsequently change gear very late when in drive. The manual paddles seem to stop working completely and there also seems to be very poor or little momentum when pushing down on the accelerator.
When I restart the car after leaving off for a good 5 mins it seems to reset and then be okay for a little while before the same then happens again. Any idea what this could be or has anyone else faced the same issue?

You've an engine fault, the cars going to limp mode.

Needs codes read , I'd hazard a guess at the exhaust back pressure sensor.
