Automotive Photography

Fantastic photos, they look so professional.

Thanks again everyone.

Regarding the paint quality, I'm sure the lighting and high contrast processing isn't helping any paint defects. In normal daylight, my untrained eye can't see any issues.

Thought I'd post this one up as well. This was actually the test shot on my driveway before taking the one posted above in a tunnel. I quite like how it turned out though and reminds me of playing Colin McRae driving games many moons ago ("Caution! Through gate.").

Cheers all.

I have only one BIG problem with your photos - which one do i set as my background!!!

Please get one of the 4 exhausts and that could be a winner :)

The last few weeks of my 52 project (A photo a week for a year) have all been car related so thought I'd post them up here:

40/52: Drive It Like You Stole It

41/52: C63 AMG PPP

42/52: Family Runabout

Cheers.

Love the garage!

Excellent, this one reminds me of Back To The Future!

Thought I'd have a crack at the obligatory light trails whilst driving shots!

More fantastic photos. But in that last shot you appear to be, err, naked!!

I like the feel of the leather

I'm wearing a t-shirt (Which you can't see) and light brown jeans, which I guess look skin coloured.

Very slick, and certainly more creative than many 'amateur' projects. In fact this work is easily of a high enough standard for print media - it puts some of the specialist magazine spreads or advertising work to shame.

I'd love to see what you could do with a classic Merc, too... old MB's are incredibly photogenic and it would be really interesting to see something a little different from the standard-issue 'shiny chrome' shots.

Certainly the equipment being used is what the pro's would use, but the poster really is getting the performance out of the 5D MK2. Its the quality of the camera, lens, and skilled post production work that make this work really a cut above what we normally see on here.

Thank you for the kind words.

I've been playing with Daz Studio to render a 3D scene and then use that scene as part of a composite. Here's the result of my first go at it:

The Gates

Here are the images used for the composite:

The Games (Composite Details)

Lots more information about these images on their Flickr pages.

Cheers.

I like the idea of the rendering, but as the car has no relfections and isn't casting a shadow it looks copied and pasted on. You're almost there with it I sense, but not quite.

Thanks Steve.

I did create a shadow but struggled with it. I think it would be harder than it appears here - possibly even multiple hard shadows! A step too far for me at the moment.

Good point about the reflections too. That is probably something I could have a stab at.

Thanks again.

Keith

I like the wheels on your car. Far better than the multi spokes.
