I had the Ghost on my C43 and I currently have it on my M340i. Positive experience both times, never had an issue with it and gives me total pieace of mind - no need for a tracker if they can't actually take it.

Some great info and advice, thank you.
I could be interested in remote start, also proximity sensors. I'll take a look at the Smart Pro and see what it has to offer.
I'm not sure I'll be doing a 500 mile, 10 1/2 hour round trip to London though

Exactly my thoughts and also if it was towed or put on a flat bed. I understand either of these situations are not very likely, but it’s another bit of peace of mind.Useful if its car jacked or you are made to override it for the villain though.
Are you suggesting it is morally incorrect to purchase one given the current situations?Aren't these alarms made in Russia ?
No, I was asking a question . . .Are you suggesting it is morally incorrect to purchase one given the current situations?
Google says manufactured in Western Russia. Kaluga to be exact. No, I was asking a question . . .
Can't think of anything else that's made in Russia . . .
Yeah, but it would be cool…………and that’s good enough for the teenager within most of us petrol heads. Can't see the point of the remote start option....warming up your car by leaving it idling is not at all good for it.....or any modern engine. And of course they are not legal to be used in any public space....just your drive.
As Roger says, Kaluga, western Russia.No, I was asking a question . . .

I've had ghosts on 3 AMGs now , the competency of the fitter is important. One fitter used the door switches. I changed it using the card to steering wheel buttons myself. The other two were set with steering wheel buttons. One insurance company wanted a Thatcham tracker fitted as the car was a >gbp80k model and the fitter advised me to save my money and get a CAT 6 rather than 5. I got a ghost for my piece of mind in addition.
Things have since moved on and I haven't bought a new car in around 3 years so haven't done a side by side comparison of the Pandora offering vs the ghost. Would be interested in more information regarding how they work especially if i get a s213. Web search incoming...

Remote start might not be available on certain models but worth checking directly with Pandora. On my 2014 E63 W212, it wasnt available at the time of installation, however the software was available for 2009-2011 E63 W212.
My installer told me that i could go back anytime to have the system updated as soon as remote start became available for my model. I personally would like to have this feature, as I often travel to work and would appreciate not having to lose time for engine to warm up before I could drive off. Even to have a 3 minute engine warm-up head start is good for the engine before you make off.
A warm engine also helps demist the front windscreen a bit faster during those cold frosty mornings. I had remote start in my previous car, found it very useful
No its not.....quite the opposite in fact.....just start it, put your seatbelt on and and drive it gently is the best way to get your engine and cat warmer faster......idling for 30 seconds tops. Idling from stone cold is pretty harmful for a modern engine and manufacturers no longer recommend it.Even to have a 3 minute engine warm-up head start is good for the engine before you make off.
