Aux battery where and when please

Morning all. I've only just read about an Aux battery in the cars. Both our cars work fine but can I have some information; where would they be on my A207 and my hubby's X218 please. Also when should you change them, as perhaps they're the original units. Lastly what do they do the main battery doesn't.

On the passenger side B post there is a QR sticker, read it with your phone it will show the location of batteries. On my E Class the sticker is on the n/s but on my wifes GLA its on the o/s.
