Avantgarde grille

Looks good Leigh. See if they will postage discount for two. Jack needs one.

after my origional grill got damaged I had a aftermarket one fitted and after about 6 months it started to rust, polishing it didn't help much and within a year it was badly pitted. I went to a scrap dealer in the end and got one from there, it's been on the car 8 months now and is perfect, I think I paid less for that than the aftermarket grill.

go for it, makes a nice change to the apperence, than the standard

these bootlegg AVANTGARDE grilles, seem to have dubious quality!
my grille have white stain spots on the chrome rails!
I tried to remove them by polishing but the stains wont come off there is still a tiny shade of discoloration.

it looks like aluminium oxide?
I don't drive my car in winter and I got these ugly spots on the chrome strips.

I have used AUTOSOL this is a polish paste and it help for some time but these spots come back over time.

buying China crap bootlegg parts from Ebay will be a bad business for the byuer!

So where did you buy your chinese "junk"? Mine is facing all the elements so far with NO PROBLEMS. I agree and will have to see with time and some salt on the roads :D Trouble is the original MB grille is around 4x  the price of my replacement grille despite the transport and custom duties added to the copy. For the moment, I'm perfectly happy with it :)

Assume the one in the link is for pre-facelift

Do they do one for the facelift ???

Whats the difference ???

Chris

Hey bud.
I bought my grille from a crappy internet shop in sweden.
These stains looks like DNA leftovers from someone raping my chromestrips!
You know Mr.Billy Clinton and Monica lewinsky, her blue dress and his thick Cohiba cigarr in the oval room!
Picture your self the actual event in your head!

Did you buy the complete grill with the outer chrome frame?
Do you have both inner protective covers on the grilles left/right side as on the original grille?
Preventing gunk and **** to enter the airfilters!

Yes, it came complete with the chrome surround. You just have to use the screws from you old grille to crew on the new one.
Yes it has a protective cover to prevent water and other flying objects into the air filter ducts. You just have to recuperate one of the flaps from your old grille (removable rubber like flap) to put on the otherside, because as you may know and have seen, our C43's have two intake ducts :D
