i'll always be around though - i dont like the porsche forum lot!

Didn't fancy posting this in the "defectors" section with all the other reprobates? ;)

I wonder how much you could buy the Boxster for if you sold your own car for £11500?

Good luck,
John

Sorry John, its been a long day and I'm unsure what you are asking?:o
:o :) I bet it is me that has misread your original post?

I was under the impression you had been offered £11500 for your car when part exchanging it for the Boxster?

If this is wrong then I have made a whoopsie :)

The delete button will have to be put to good use?

Regards,
John

Have fun with your boxster - I had a ball with mine. Although the tyres didn't seem to last too well ... must've been all those track days :D

I'm thinking about going back to a mid-engined car, but this time round it'll be Brabus tuned, 6-speed sequential box in a mean shade of black. Just need to put a Star on instead of the ... Smart badges!

No, that is correct. I was fairly happy with that price!!

Phew!! My point was that if you had cash in hand then you MIGHT get the Porsche a bit cheaper?

You appear happy with the overall price and by part exchanging your car it takes away the worry of trying to sell it privately.

John

Good luck with the Box S purchase, Rich - top choice :)

Which forum don't you like? Boxa.net? Hang round there a bit, develop some thick skin and you'll be ok. There are some imature silly billys residing there but they're harmless on the whole. And anyway, the Box S will put smiles on yer face even if the forum doesn't :bannana:

Drop me a PM if there's anything I can help/advise you on.

All the best,

Steve

Unbelievable coincidence! On Saturday I'm off to Tony Purslow Basingstoke to drive such a beast, if beast is the right word. :)

The good lady needs a vehicle, and my current thinking is if we kept the CLK and bought the Brabus we'd have two excellent, yet different cars, ticking all the boxes for roof down fun yet retaining long distance load carrying (and speed) with the CLK.

Jeremy I think we should compare notes at some point. Good choice Sir!

Forgot to say, SportsCoupeRich, excellent choice!

I eargerly await the opportunity to look at some pictures. :)

Are you guys talking Roadsters or Fortwo's?

Roadsters are discontinued so go for a stonking deal or a collectors edition as they really are gorgeous cars!

Fortwo's are going to be replaced sometime end of next year so again push for a bit of a deal.

Roadies are fantastic fun, just be warned some do leak but then they are a small 2 seater sports car!

Need any help drop me a PM, I run an indie Smart place in Somerset!

Kate

That is a lovely looking car, nice shade of blue. The guy in the office next door has just bought and 02 Plate Boxter...and very nice it is too.

Lapis blue indeed.

Full spec is as follows...

Lapis Blue 2000 3.2S 6 Speed
Metropole Blue leather with met blue hood
Artic pack (aluminium everywhere inside)
NO traction control
cd changer
full porsche history bar one service at charles ivey (known specialist)
nothing else out of the ordainary....

250 bhp with no traction ctrl!!!!

Is this scary hammerhead?

Hey, that's 252bhp, not 250. Those other two are very important ;) And yes, it'll certainly feel ballistic after your C Coupe.

I've not got traction control on mine either and don't really worry about it (and didn't have it on any of my other 3 previous Porkers). The Boxster has tons of grip and is very neutral in terms of under/oversteer. Just be careful if it's damp/greasy as they can to flip into oversteer if you're too brutal with the throttle in such conditions. As would any RWD drive car actually. So ignore those who say you HAVE to have t/c (or PSM in Porsche speak) - they need lighter right feet and more common sense.

Boxsters prefer a smooth approach to being driven. You don't need to rag them hard to make swift progress. Take your time getting to know your car and how it responds and you'll get on great with it.

Spec/service history sounds fine. Charles Ivy well know/respected. Has it had the 48k service yet? Known as the 'big on', it's not that great a deal really, as it also involves replacing the V-belt but adds a bit to the £bill.

Apart from that, you should be fine :)

Cheers,

Steve

I've got the extended Ali pack as well - quite like it as it lifts the otherwise all black interior
Interior.jpg

Those door pulls are lush. Proper chunky lumps of smooth aliminium...

Thats a great looking interior. it has had the 'big one' (its now on mid 50k miles) where it got a new cambelt (assume this is the vbelt?) and clutch.

The car doesnt have the silver stereo surround but I will be adding this from essential styling me thinks. Not sure it has an on board computer either...again, cant this be added fairly easily?

Cant wait!!
