I have been ringing around for a B service quote on the car and the specialists seem to be quoting me without parts / vat while the bigger dealers quote me inc parts / labour / vat.

To give you an idea Tony Purslow quoted be £420 all in while a local specialist said £150 for the labour + parts + vat.

So the question to all you knowledable folks on here, how much would i be looking at for the parts roughly ? Would it add up to £420 ? Also i believe the car is due its 4th year service as well which seems to get me a discount at Tony Purslow and MB but Specialists are saying it will cost more ??

Thanks and apologies to the mods if this is in the wrong area

Look in your service booklet schedule and it will tell you what is exactly done and parts changed. Not many additional parts are used in a B service compared to an A.

All the extra money is time that they say they send on checking things. I had a B service done a month ago and the parts are the same. They didn t even change the air filter.
Mad isn t, if you search you should see a service schedule detailing what they check.

I hope this helps.
Cheers
Ian
