Hi All, first post.
Wife has got a 2005 B180Cdi - she loves it. I'm new to Mercs, and I know it had a lot of work done pre-delivery at Ipswich Mercedes (autotronic fluid/filter change, major service, brake pads, tyres etc).
Couple of Q's from me - as it has to go back for something to be sorted.
1. Central locking hammering and not locking - drivers door. Is this a known issue? Dealer seemed to know the answer before we'd really said anything suggesting it was common-place.
2. Squeak on starting in cold/damp conditions. I'm used to VW and that's normally a pulley bearing....any usual suspects here? It sounds like a squeaky fanbelt of old!
3. Front suspension - knocking. I'm not too sure of the setup, but the front passenger side seems really "knocky" on bumpy roads - sounds quite worrying, however doesn't always do it. Compared to my car the whole front suspension seems very clattery and noisy - suggestions?
Other than that, would be happy to have any info sharing on what to look out for/maintain to ensure a long and happy motoring life. Given the dent it put in my wallet, it needs to last
Cheers all,
Dan.
