Intro - new owner

Hi , very sorry about delayed reply.

You have the benefit of a fast car but I economy is good in comparison to the V8s.
Errr from what I understand and have read from other owners on here, fuel economy on your average C43 isn't what you think it might be, especially when pressing on.

A friend in SADCASE recons he averages 10 mpg more on his C43 than his old C63 both 205 models. He mainly changed because he started a job rather further away.......his wife not liking the 63 (mainly the sports seats) clearly was nothing to do with it!

No apology necessary. We all have lives outside of forums🙂
To be honest im not sure about the V8 economy but im getting 23mpg combined based on comfort mode until warmed up and then sport/sport+ thereafter. Most of my mileage is short range. If i go long distance then i get around 35mpg.
That’s better than my previous car, so im happy with it!😄

Yeah ive got one of those alarms that goes off in the passenger seat, when the right foot gets a bit enthusiastic! Strangely i never hear it when im driving alone! 😂

Welcome from another newbie. Lovely colour...same as mine, do you know what MB call it?
Old Essex lad here. I did the opposite migration to my family...they moved from London to Essex and I then moved back to London. (Ex Southend, Clacton, Colchester)

It's a thirsty engine for what it is. The BMW B58 3 litre straight six turbo will get at least another 5mpg.

Thanks mate. Yes its my favourite colour out of the very limited selection. I think its called selanite grey, or something like that.
Im Maldon based, grew up in Wickford, so not far from the places you mentioned.

Drove through Maldon Xmas eve. Parents used to live in Mundon many moons ago. Small world...

Oh theres no doubting its not really economical. But who seriously buys these cars expecting economy? Its all about smiles per gallon!😁
I was originally getting a w205 C63 as desperately wanted the V8 at least once before we’re all forced into over sized RC cars! But the insurance was insane, and when i looked at the C43 i realised it still makes a nice noise, and it actually made a lot more sense for me anyway, taking everything into consideration.

Its is indeed! Maldon is getting overcrowded for my liking now, but i love the fact it feels like a holiday destination, like Devon/Dorset in a way.

That's what I thought - its mad really, considering my E63S averages 22-25mpg when i'm pottering about and will nudge 30mpg on a continuous motorway run. My old C63S averaged 25mpg/33mpg respectively in the same circumstances.

Is any AMG owner really bothered about, MPG. :dk:🙂
Not me.😉 I was just pleasantly surprised to see it above 20 combined, despite the odd spirited drive. I bet the number will go down in the summer when the car warms up quicker and the opportunity to “drive properly” increases.
