Battery Change

I think if you could patent your method of permanently killing stop/start you'd make a lot of money!!:D:D:):)

Well stop/start. has started working again, wish it would make it's tw**ing mind up. But am I right in thinking all the stopping and starting will just put extra strain on the starter motor and battery ?

Extra strain on the battery absolutely, hence important to make sure it is an AGM battery.

Extra strain on the starter yes, but most if not all ECO start/stop models are fitted with enhanced starters (if a 'traditional' starter is fitted at all). Additionally the ECU will remember the exactly the position of the pistons and so will fire up the engine immediately unlike starting from an off ignition where the ECU has to sync to sensor.

£246 is taking the pi**. I paid 149 for an agm varta g14 for my cls. Pretty sure it fits the c class also.

Advanced AGM 019 Battery – Stop Start Technology | ABS Batteries
Hi, did you buy a battery from advanced batteries?
I bought one for my e class for£145.
It reads 12.9v when it arrived. Got my garage to fit it and it wouldn't do anything. No dash lights etc. they put the old one on and all good. Go figure

Yes. 4 years ago.

I ve just bought one and it's 12.9 v. It won't power the dash lights. He s adamant the battery isn't the problem but garage says it's a dud. Doesn't make sense
Things like that only happen in movies.

The only reasons a battery would show 12.9 volts but not light up the warning lights are an incredibly high internal impedance which I’ve never seen (but could believe) or a very high resistance in the main circuit such as @geoffus has suggested on the other thread.
