Might sound like a daft question.
Is there any reason why I should not leave a "maintenance" battery charger connected and switched on for 4 weeks (while I am at work). With the battery in situ and connected.

If its a smart charger such as a Ctek, then no reason not to, it'll be fine and what they are designed for.

That's what I've been doing with my 968 for many years now - something like a CTEK battery conditioner, longest I've left the car untouched was 10 weeks. Keeps the battery topped up and enhances battery life - when I sold my coupe the battery was about 10 years old and still going strong!

I had mine hooked up to a Ctek charger for most of the winter with no issues. That is what that type of charger is made for. The longest I had it on without moving the car was about 8 weeks.

Argos sell the ctek 3.8 so looks like it's a visit there today ( need it for tomorrow)
Cheers for the help
