2001 clk 430
Hi all, looking for a c-tec battery conditioner to keep the clk going over the winter months. Can anyone advise me on which model would do the job? Car is a clk430. Thanks

I use an MXS 5.0 with the supplied permanent battery connector so that I can leave the battery connected in the car and easily remove the charger when necessary.

It doesn't upset the car's electrics doing this.

Has anyone used a battery conditioner successfully with a W209 CLK320? If so, any recommendations? I was thinking of getting a Ctek MXS 3.8A. Would this be big enough to work, sophisticated enough not to break anything?
The hand book's full of dire warnings about incorrect use or type of battery charger.

Forget the 3.8 get the 5.0 Amp version- handles bigger batteries charging wise. Little difference in price. The Mercedes recommended chargers they supply are rebranded CTEKS.

I have a W211 E320 CDI and use the MXS5.0, as I only get home five or six times a year it stay connected for long periods with no problems (so far!) I also use the permanently connected leads on the battery to avoid the issue of having to take out boot protector / carpets, and that's great too.

I would definitely recommend the ctek chargers, they're an excellent product.

For conditioning you don't need a particularly powerful (high amp rating) charger. I've used an AccuMate on my SL (which has a 100 Ah battery) for nearly 8 years. This charger only puts out 1.2A.

The car starts first time and the battery is 10 years old now, so it seems to be working ok ;) :)

One thing I like about the AccuMate is that you can mount it on the wall
