can some one tell me please if I put a new battery in key fob does it have to be programmed to the car again as it has a transmitter in it

Thanks ,is it best to go to a Mercedes dealer for a battery or just get one from a local car shop

I got mine at the dealer, played dumb and the parts guy changed it for me

Mercedes do not make the battery, just get one from Amazon or similar. They are very cheap in multi packs.

If you get one from another supplier other than Mercedes (They stock Duracell) make sure you get a similarly good brand.

This will give you a flavour of how to do it, it's very straight forward, though your key may be a bit different. Helps maybe that I worked in a jewelers for years so opening up watches etc for a battery change is second nature to me but it really isn't that difficult...
