BBS RS 200 Split Rims

They are period wheels and similar BBS designs were used on the race cars.

You need to be carefull, a mate of mine buys, refurbishes and sells rims like this and he normally finds they unpolish themselves on the way to his house, ie, the pictures your looking at are not the actual rims!!

BBS RS wheels don't fit 500E's without massive spacers....that's due to the massive calipers on the front.

These ones won't work without a 20mm spacer on a w124 500e.

w126 is fine since the brake calipers are tiny relative to a 500e.

Interesting, the set I bought came off a 500E. The guy didn't mention spacers at all.

These are ET13 so what difference does the brake caliper make? Does it snag on the wheel centre or hub?

I'm reasonably sure BBS actually state these fit the E500/500E in their spec table. I'll take a look when I get home and post the factory technical specs.(Sad I know I have a list of all the dimensions and fitments of all these wheels for when I buy from Japan)

The Et and width have little meaning on BBS wheels due to the fact that the centre pieces on BBS wheels are completely flat.

Look at a stock 500E 8-hole alloy and you will see the significant curvature onthe centre face from the rear side...it curves outwards to give caliper clearance.

AMG 3-piece, AMG Aero I's work on the 500E....these wheels have the centre piece curving out from the rear side to accomodate the calipers.

the BBS wheels would need a -ve offset to make them work without spacers on a 500E....might not be the case for a select few RS versions, but is a general rule of thumb.

yes, generally RS are 3-piece, RW are 2 piece.

The centre piece sits between the inner and outer rim on a BBS wheel. OZ's sit underneath the inner rim and bolt through to the outer rim.
