Bit of an odd one.

Use the Becker Sat Nav in my 2012 S204 C class all the time.

For some reason on motorways or fast dual carriage ways it sometimes directs me off at a motorway junction only to go around the roundabout and straight back onto the motorway or dual carriage way.

I cant for the life of me find a setting to stop the damn thing doing this. Its more annoying than anything.

Any body any clues as to what setting I can change to prevent this?

Thanks!

If it's any consolation, mine does it too (2013 S204).
But then so does the inbuilt nav in Mrs S's VW group car.
The only surefire way I have found to stop it doing it is to switch it off and rely on our old Garmin suction-cupped to the windscreen.
Technology.......

I gave up on using the in built sat nav. I use Waze and its brilliant.

It's borne of an error in the underlying cartography data that causes the device to erroneously calculate that the quicker and/or shorter route is via the exit.

Daft, but not much you can do about it other than to report the map error.

Cheers guys. looks like its a "feature" then LOL

My phone does fit quite nicely resting up against the screen showing google maps, might give waze a go though, heard of it but never used it.

Cheers.

Had the same issue with my Merc S Class Coupe (C217) 2016. Solved it by installing an Android Auto module so I'm using Waze now ...

I had a 2013 car with the same SatNav built in and experienced the same as you. As others have said, the software has errors that cause this to happen, though in fairness I experienced this with my two W213 E class cars too.

I found the Harman Becker SatNav to be pretty mediocre and I used a TomTom instead in my C class back in the day. The E class was less of a problem as the cars support CarPlay, so using Waze is easy.

The re-routing feature in Waze can sometimes throw similar odd results when the route dynamically changes whilst you are on an exit ramp and can direct you back to the motorway (or other road) you just left. It would be nice to think the W204 was doing just this with its built-in SatNav, but I don’t think it was that sophisticated!

Waze runs on Google maps and is well worth considering.

Presumably the Becker Map Pilot has the latest firmware, and the latest maps data?
