Bed size

I am building a studio for a client and need to make up a scale drawing to fax to the client in South Africa. Does anyone know the average size for a single bed?

I always thought it was 3'6". for a standard single bed not sure of length maybe 6'6"

Ikea website is great for info like this

Standard is 3'0"
2'6" is available as a single as is 3'6"
Don't forget though that the ikea beds are metric sizes. Is this whats available in SA?

Hi, standard size was always considered to be 36 X 72 inches. An argos catalogue or website is another good source of info on available sizes.
