Hello again fellow MB owners. I,m back looking for more help from all you wonderfully knowledgeable people. Thats the niceties outta the way.

Heres my problem. Mechanic used to do the work on my car outside of his paid employment (cash in hand as it were). Has now gone out on his own officially and is not interested in doing any work on my car, He called it a SMOKER, only seems to want newer cars that he can get more money for working on, (can,t fault him for that really), but either way I,m now fully on my own doing the maintenance and repair work. Its amazing really. Theres a massive recession and I still can,t get a mechanic that has merc experience, that works as an independent. Can,t figure that one out. But as you all know the dealers do not want my dirty old car on their shiny floors, so I,m kinda stuck doing what I can myself. I tell you something that did amaze me was, the new garage entrepreneur took the mercedes dealership attitude with him into his new business venture, which is basically located in an old cowshed on a farm. This guy is a wizard with mercs and should really be on a main street in the city, and employing people, he,d make a fortune, with a change of attitude. He,s a nice bloke as well, just needs to lose the mercedes dealership attitude.

Rant over.

The problem is I need to replace the belt damper on my 1994 e200, w124 with a 111 engine. I can,t find explicit instructions on the forum. There are some threads with photos etc referred to, but the links are usually broken as some of them go back as far as 2005.

So if any of you can direct me to instructions and or photos I would very much appreciate it.

2nd small problem is : Map light bulb is gone. Do I just prise out the plastic holder or is there some trick getting it out. Don,t want to break the light housing, as its used as a taxi and driving around with a hole in the roof would not be good.

Thanks in advance.
