E Class 350CDI Cab
I've been using the Autoglym products now for just I've two years and I have just used the last of the HD wax, I've been happy with this wax but should I spend more of my hardcore earned money and get some Swissvax or equivalent.

As this kicks off at about £100 + then the pre wax cleaner has anyone got any experience in using it?
Is it really worth all the extra cash or should I stay with AG?

Looks nice, I've recently bought a White E-Cab used the last of the AG HD on it but it just didn't quite give the finish I was looking for or expected like my previous silver E class, so I thought as the pot is now empty is it time for a change ?

Choice of wax seems very personal and will get lots and lots of different answers from people. Soft wax, hard wax, pastes, hybrids with part sealant...it goes on and on!

Detailing World will announce their awards shortly, might want to see what that turns up?

I've bought 6 different waxes in last few months to try, ranging from cheap and cheerful Dodo Juice test pot to some lesser known (to me anyway!) waxes from independents like BlackMagic Detailing.

All I'd say is from my reading around this is price is not necessarily the be all and end all. Typically speaking the more expensive the wax the more high quality ingredients will go into the wax.

That said from what I understand a lot of waxes around the £50-£60 or even less are every bit as well regarded as some of the obscenely expensive ones.

The wax you mentioned will have many supporters but likely as many who would boo boo and recommend something else.

try collinite its very reasonably priced looks good and will give 3/4 months protection

I bought some zymol wax for my 911 a few years ago.

Fab stuff. Very labour intensive. Very. Very. Very expensive.

A large tub can cost £6000. Free life time refills on those!!!!

It's quite a minefield out there. Each to there own as it's how you look at your pride and joy.

Then it rains!!!!!! Ahhhh

Agree with other posts about wax being a personal choice and some of the mid priced products being as good as the £100 + stuff, at least for the amateur enthusiast anyway...... the guy I use to detail my car may disagree.

I tend to use Chemical Guys products (Lava Paste Wax) and have found them pretty good.

Could one of the mods please move this to 'detailing'?

That way I'll never have to see it again.

I used Autoglym sealer then followed with 2 coats of Zymol glasur it produced a really deep wet look.

Good that is one of the waxes I'm waiting on!

Take it you rate it?

Yes I like it, albeit I am certainly no expert. A little goes a long way, easy to buff off and leaves a nice deep glossy shine. Not that it matters but also smells great.

Not sure if any good but ...If you really want to try some SV but want to keep cost down there is a guy selling samples on the Detailing World website, Mystery and Concorso.

He had some Scuderia and Rolls Royce but he has sold out of them.

Might be worth checking out.

I use a few coats of collinite 476S for its durability but use a combination of products underneath that..

Chemical Guys, EZ creme/Blacklight/V7, can layer up the Blacklight and V7 then apply a couple of coats of the wax.

If you look at the detailing world classified section, you may be able to pick up some really top notch waxes for less than half price.

I bought a tub of £150 Zymol from a member for £50 a few years ago and it barely used!

I still have 2/3 left!

You'll be surprised at what and what not goes into a wax.

In relation to price £100+ vs lower priced products, the only difference is that because it has cost you £100+ it must be better.

Intac42 - Shoot me a PM, I'll sort something out for you :)

Switched to Angelwax products last year, great working with these products and turned out cheaper.

Have some H2Go and love that, not loving QED as much, only used it a couple of times but will persevere. Are you using any of their waxes?

I have tried some Orchard Autocare products, and had some really good results with them.

I gave the standard wax a go first, then moved up price wise to use their AG Wax specifically for metallic silver, brilliant results, friends thought the car had been resprayed. Also use the grime/tar removal revelation and used the bilberry wax treatment on the wheels after having them refurbished which saves time cleaning. Must have a look at the H2GO.
