Hi,
I'm not into 'detailing' as such but like my car to look clean and well-kept.
I've used Colourmagic Black with reasonable success but need to buy more wax.
Without breaking the bank what would anyone suggest is a good wax for a black car?
Cheers
So I was itching to wash my car today, but it was sat smack in the Sun.
So did panel by panel with my mitt and drying rag.
Used a different car shampoo from my normal Megquars gold wash.
And went for this 2 quid cheaper wash and wax.
And it a thumbs up from me:thumb:

I recently polished my Silver CLK. After which I applied some wipe on wipe off Sonax Brilliant Shine detailer, do I still need to apply Wax? Or is the detailer enough apparently it's does the same sealing job?
Also, what's the best method of cleaning in between the panel gaps, for example the...
My car is around 10 weeks old now and usually as with previous cars I wax this time of year and again in October. Any views on whether this is a good pattern or will the October coat be sufficient.:thumb:
Will be having wheels refurbished in a couple of weeks, a full tyre off, strip back to bare metal and powder coat job. Looking for recommendations on a wheel wax to apply straight after.
Now of only I could make my mind up about the colour, stick with the stock silver, go for the gunmetal...
Hi all,
Has anyone had experience using collinite no 845 sealing their wheels?
Gets a great write-up on many forums and was top of an Auto express group test but I read it gives a glossy finish.
The wheels on my car are the 19" black multi spoke AMG numbers and I think the finish is matte...
Having heard some horror stories about getting your car washed at some places I have decided to go the DIY route. What are the best cleaning prducts and wax recommended for an obsidian black colour? I have heard about CarLack 68 and Collinite 845 but I believe the latter is more suitable for...
As the title suggests....over the weekend i prepared the car for a wax and polish but the British weather intervened and I didn't get very far! But then it occurred to me...what do I do about the roof as its all glass? is it ok to apply wax to it or do you seal it with something else? i ask as...

Probably a stupid question, but as I'm considering buying a machine I thought I'd ask. How does waxing work with an electric mop? Do you still apply the wax by hand and then buff with the machine, or do you both apply and buff with a mop?
If you do apply with the mop, how do you get the wax...
Seek recommendations over decent wax for dark coloured cars.
Use Dodo Purple Haze Pro and love it but wonder if there are better/value for money products out there that I am missing out upon.
Always hand apply with an applicator and remove with microfibre - anyone use a DA?
Decided to give the car a little spring clean and wax but time flew by and started to get caught out with fading light so had to skip a few steps and get a wax coat on to protect the graft.
Standard snow foam and shampoo
Autosmart red 7 iron and fallout remover followed by tar...
I've got matt black alloys on my R172.
Should you use special wax or is it ok to use stuff as you would for silver metallic alloys. I've got AmorAll Shield and rim wax products from my previous car. I was wondering whether it tarnishes the matt finish and whether you're meant to get products...
