Best detailing products for black e class convertible

Love this stuff, cheap as chips, really easy to use, spray on when wet, then dry with towel, leaves a super slick surface which lasts for ages. IMG_3496.jpeg

Was never a fan of the black hole hence that’s why i have virtually a full bottle still laying in my garage
I got pretty good results with Black Hole followed by Bilt Hamber Double Speed Wax.

Welcome - and don't forget before and after pics :ttiuwp

You have really opened a can of worms now! These detailing guys go into great detail (see what I did there?) Stand by for a discussion on the best Q-tip to use and should it be used clockwise or counter clockwise?

Just teasing - they are a very knowledgeable and helpful bunch ;);)
I don’t use the 2 bucket method i use 1 bucket with the bucket grid and about 6 wash mitts only use one side of the mitt which does a a few panels turn it over and do the same then take another fresh mitt from the bucket the car is well soaked up with Snowfoam before I start just incase someone asks

You could well be right but my understanding is that the Poorboy's Blackhole will enhance the the shine of the finished car by hiding imperfections such as swirl marks etc. It does this because it contains so called 'glazing agents' that fill in these swirls on a short term basis, that give a smooth glossy surface thus making the paint look richer and deeper.

It is called a 'show glaze' and as such it does indeed enhance the appearance as I have explained, but only on a temporary basis as is my understanding, but to prolong the effect and also improve it as I mentioned above it needs something over the top like the Auto Finesse Finale Detail Spray or any other sealant or wax of choice.

A lot of these products never take out the scratches and swiris completely they just mask them up and are always there the only way to get rid of them completely is by using cutting compounds with the buffer or DA which can take a time to do if you know what you are doing as i have seen people trying this and making a ar$e of it then they have to see the professionals to get it sorted out

You are quite right, and Poorboys Black Hole is a glaze with fillers. Autoglym Super Resin polish does a similar job on light /white cars.
Mercedes paintwork, or the clearcoat specifically is extremely hard and it does take a lot of effort with a polisher and the correct cutting compounds to remove those imperfections.
But I have to disagree a little with you when you say its the wax that's given the car its shine.
It was the polish that gave the initial shine and the wax protected and enhanced the shine.

I agree with that the polish gives the shine the wax only protects the shine

That is exactly what I explained above about the Poorboy's Blackhole, it is a temporary fix, which has 'glazing agents' that fill the swirls, giving "a smooth glossy surface thus making the paint look richer and deeper".

If you want the job done properly you do indeed need to remove the top coat and paint below if that is affected too, and as you say, that means a more aggressive approach, in the old days I guess the go to option would be something like T-Cut to remove swirls, oxidation, light scratches and scuffs, that's what my lovely old dad would would use, only he had a bit of rag not the luxury of a DA.
