Best Leather cleaner?

Anyone mentioned Gliptone?

Awesome stuff.

It as Dieselman says, the only thing for cracked leather is a re-paint which is should not be that expensive.

If your seats need reconelising we do this in house at the studio.

Also worth remembering that when leather goes hard and shiny it is more often than not a layer of dead skin, dirt and grease that is sitting on the top, get rid of all that and you will get back to that nice new matte look again.

I have used Leather Re-Colouring Balm this on a few occasions.
I use Autoglym leather cleaner and this.....

Buy Meguiar's All-Surface Interior Brush from Meguiar's UK

To get the leather looking matte, and then the colour restorer to fill in any cracks, but do the whole seat.

Then I use Liquid Leather after that process if needed or when redoing it. But normally just the leather cleaner is enough.

I use Poorboys.
It smells of cherries and also cleans almost everything in the cockpit well.
Highly recommended - its pretty innocuous.

I normally use soapy water and a flannel as DM said, once clean and dry I use Z-10 leather in a bottle it leaves a nice even sheen and smells of leather for weeks after.

Thanks for all the great feedback guys. In the end i used my the "Auto Glym" i use for my bike leathers and WOW the seats look amazing now and really soft. I used quite a lot as the leather is Airtex and obviously very absorbent. Cheers, Tony.

I use baby wipes when i wash the car weekly & simonz leather cleaner once a month,if the colour cracks or fades theres a product i bought on e-bay called leather forever(available in any colour)which i used on my w219 & w208 which you put on with a cloth then buff off after a few minutes-works really well.

I've just bought meguiar's goldclass cleaner and conditioner, supposed to be good stuff, will let ya know how good it is after leather is cleaned.

Another vote for Gliptone.

Best leather cleaner & conditioner I have used.

A friend of mine is a furniture dealer and he recommended i use the cheapest shaving foam i could find. Not scented or anything like that just a basic one cheapest you can find and apply using an old sock.

Buff it off then use a leather conditioner. Have to say worked a treat on my seats :)

The paint cracks off exposing the leather. Wiping with a damp cloth won't harm them, but they need a repaint.

Ooh that's an XM!!

I've always found the Autoglym leather cleaner followed up by Autoglym leather care balm did the trick on my previous cars that had leather interior.

The autoglym cleaner is very good, it is quite abrasive though, but if the leather has lost its matte finish and gone shiney it will get it back again.

This was the bolster on my E320, and that had gone shiny when I collected it, one session with Autoglym and it was back looking new.....

Has anybody done a crack repair with a piccie or two...?

Did mine with Gliptone today and it came out lovely and a great smell too:thumb:

I use a product from buffalo, its mail order and comes with spray cleaner / sponge applicator. Then I use the sealer afterwoods, its amazing stuff and keeps the inside like new. Down side is you slide around on the seats through the corners.

Most people use it on their leather suites at home, so I tried it on the car and perfect.
