Hello Everyone,

I have a W210 with the factory fitted stereo system. I am currently using the I-Trip to listen to my Ipod but the interference and rubbish quality is getting on my nerves. What would be the best way to sort this? Should I go down the ICE route or should I change the head unit? Would the steering wheel controls work on a new head unit?

Cheers

I think the O-P will have an Audio 10 so can't connect anything AUX.

hello mush i m back in the uk after doin 7 months in monastir prison if you need me let me know ? ope ur avina nice xmas H

Hmmmmmmmm

And a merry christmas to you too!

Hi, I got one of those (Belkin ipod tunebase fm) ipod charger & fm transmitter for xmas but I wasn't happy with the location - gooseneck not long enough for passenger footwell 12v socket & didn't fancy the ashtray being open all the while to use the socket in there. So the Belkin went back to Amazon!

I've decided (in the next couple of weeks) to ask Alfie for the kit to add the aux socket to my comand, that leaves me with a charging problem for the ipod.

I'm thinking of buying a cheap ipod charger, then, does any one know if, while i've got comand out, i can cut off the cigarette lighter plug and hard wire to a 12v supply somewhere behind comand?

That way I can hide the charging cable in the glove box with the aux socket.

Ideally I would want a switched supply so that it comes on with the ignition & isn't permanently live.

Also, I'm not sure for my use that the glovebox is the best place for the aux socket & ipod charging cable. I think I would prefer it in one of the boxes on the centre console, probably the one with the roller shutter lid. I guess that it is only a matter of extending the cables if they are not long enough?

Any thoughts on the charging cable 12v supply?

When you say Aux input do you mean the genuine MB iPod kit? 'Cos that charges the iPod too :)

Perhaps Alfie can take a power feed from the back of your comand? Would be the neatest solution. Then as you say hide the charger in the dash somewhere...

I'm looking at a DIY job as I'm not often in Surrey. So any thoughts on best cables to splice into would be appreciated.

What's an Ipod and can you get the "Home Service" on it ? thanks from the man with the Bush DAC 90 and a slightly out of date copy of the Radio Times.;)
