Well ok, maybe not "went in" as such, but even so, this is one awesome looking beast of a machine. The sheer size of it is incredible, and to think this will hopefully break 1000mph is mind boggling.

Is that THE car, or the mock up they are using to drum up sponsorship / advertising?

They were at Brooklands a few weeks back and the statistics around what they are looking to achieve are mindboggling.

Andy Green is a brave man - hope he shows those Americans just how good the UK project is.

Alas not THE car no...

It was in my daughters school as part of a "generating interest in science" week to hopefully inspire and spark interest in the talent of tomorrow.

Can't imagine how terrifying that will be, bottom inches from the ground travelling at 1000 mph......

Not as terrifying as coming accross me and my speedy estate car on the way to get kebab

Faster than the bullet from a 357 Magnum when at full chat.

They haven't built the proper car yet I think.

I sponsored it as I think it is important to British engineering.

Hmmm. A private girls school?? (Said in a non Percy way).

Now back in my day we just played with Mercury!!!!!

Which says a lot!!!

*** is faster going to the toilet AFTER the kebab.

Good to see Rossetts providing support.

They are a top M-B commercial dealership - my Vito goes there for servicing.

1000mph, is that all, I know a guy who can do 830mph without even an engine to help him......

Andy Green is one of the most rational men I have ever worked with:eek:
The complete opposite of most racing drivers, he comes to the job of mastering complex and quick machinery from a 180 degree different direction to most circuit racers.
They use skill, experience and bravery. He uses knowledge, rationality and an incredible mind based in mathamatics. (He has a 1st from Oxford in maths)

He showed me that the job of record breaking is the job of a test pilot, not that of a racing driver.
He stayed with me in Norfolk for a couple of days when he did his first ever circuit race and certainly was not the quickest driver on the track! He did enjoy the experience, but was not about to give up the day job! ;)

Oh! He does jump out of moving aeroplanes for fun though....:dk:
