A **** heap
I thought id just point this out as my dealing with a pothole ended up causing a bit of a pain in the ****!

Went down a pothole on the way home one night while driving down the lanes round my way, it was a large enough hole to make the car unlock the doors!

Result for it was:
x2 new tyres and one front anti roll bar.

Just look at the state of the rear tyre!

ouch , are you going to try and claim back on the council for that?

Thats the worst ive seen for a while. TBH in Scotland the roads are in a truely terrible state. I couldnt believe how good the roads were from london all the way up to the border and then it got crap! I spend my entire time driving around avoiding potholes.

Was the rim bent too? or was hat just a rubber mark on lip?

Ouch. What a shame. Did you check if you can claim this off the council?

Also, what make of tyres do you have? Just wondering if 'premium' branded tyres might prove more robust that so-called 'budget' tyres.

Ouch! Hope your teeth are alright!:D

Did you get photo's of the pothole if not get them sharpish.Whereabouts was the offending hole? I & others on here live in Essex too and wouldn't want to hit that!

There was another thread on here recently with a good copy of a letter sent to a council on the same type of issue.

Have a look at that some good advice on there. All the best:thumb:

Wow, thats some damage there! make sure you claim, i must say thats the worst tyre bulge ive seen without it actually bursting!

I heard councils pushed for a rule change so you can no longer claim from them unless the hole is marked for repair. Don't know where I got this from: some forum at the time

i have looked at that potholes.co.uk site and i am going to try to claim but i very much doubt i will get anywhere...

This pothole was on the country lane near delta force paintball (Romford Road) in essex.

i ask this question at the tyres shop to which he replied i dont think it would have made a huge difference as the hole must have been quite deep and having low profiles, the tyre not going to stand much chance!

He show me the inside of the tyre and where the bulges were the inside of the the tyre walls had been shaven away like it had been drove on flat!

Then add i am surprised they didn't blow out on you!
