Big Decision Time - Selling my E55K Wagon!

Looks very toppy to me when you have taken into account there was recently an absolute mint 55 plate one with circa 35/40k miles on for circa £16k (there’s a thread on here somewhere)

Yep best one I’ve seen by far, absolutely mint 7 seater too. Chap called Elliot bought it after his previous one was written off

Splitting hairs I know but for accuracy it was actually a 45k miler but had some big gaps of non-use in the history. Was originally advertised at £19k (£18,995) and was dropped twice to £18k and eventually to £17k (£16,995)

Was a very very nice looking car but was missing a few key options like sunroof for me.

Still the best 55k wagon I’ve seen for a while and I can only assume it didn’t sell quicker perhaps due to the summer slowdown :)

Simon - I’ve never seen your car from what I can remember but you clearly love it :)

I’d think twice about selling it as I’m sure you’ll miss it more than you think and find it very hard to replace.

55Ks of all variants seem to have bottomed out now so I don’t think you have much to lose by waiting for a while to see how things work out for you.

Best of luck though if you decide to sell and be patient as I think yours with the mods and spec will appeal to a niche market as do most of these large petrol engined AMGs anyway

I didn't think I had a picture of Simon's car but managed to find this collage with my old one from some MSL day or other: -

The pictures don't do it justice but the wheels still look awesome. :D

Keep it mate, you know you want to...

Where was this one taken Dave?:D

I echo what Will Says Simon, I think you will regret selling it buddy. Looks a stunner and dam.... those wheels!

To be frank, I wasn’t exactly sure on the mileage Will but I certainly knew it was less than 50k which really is a rarity for both the age and the intended use of the E55K.

There was also the one with 50k for sale which had the designo Interior think that was around 15k, but was the higher tax bracket being a 2006

Simon, would you mind dropping me a pm please. I don't have the required 30 posts!

Thanks for all the input guys. You lot are a nightmare as after making the decision to sell, I'm now already talking myself out of it again!!!:wallbash:
I know if it goes I will instantly regret it, but I need a vehicle more suited to my work needs. Well actually my wagon is perfectly suited to my work needs, but I just couldn't bear the thought of knackering it up!

Regarding the black one I put a link up about it says it was an 85K miler and the service milages at services seem to tally with that? Did they just put all incorrect data against the car then?

Lol. Simon, I went through this same scenario, with a good friend here talking me out out of selling twice, I have further advice or pennies worth for you, jack your job in and retire, and get a skip in, and throw all that fishing tackle in there, job done, no need for change of car! seems quite simple to me, albeit this advice does not promote future stability with sound of mind with all your free time, but certainly get to enjoy the wagon for a few more years! Best of luck with your decision mate.

Hey Simon. You (and Ricky S and AMgeed) were one of my main sources when I bought my wagon 3 years ago. I really appreciated your input at the time.

Don't sell it! I had a new E63 recently on contract and whilst its great, it couldn't fit a washing machine and dryer in the boot and the ride was horrible!

Keep!

I think I've talked you out of selling too at some point!!

Any photos? This car sounds amazing!

Yourself, Alex and a couple of others mate, all responsible for me still having the car! Your all forgiven!
My personal thought on your need to sell, is the car as you you say is not being used or appreciated, perhaps we should organise another car trip in line with the one we did to AMG a few years back, taking out the bloody awful weather factor on the return leg, and narrow road works in Germany to which I multiple times nearly wiped the barriers, ugh, it was a very enjoyable road trip, with a few good guys, this said not sure, would you be interested to do that trip again Simon, if you still had your 55? if so, I still have most of the contact details, inc the hotel and its, unusual parking arrangements.

Well after seeing this thread, I have been going through the same thought process as I rarely use mine. However I know the second I decide to sell mine, I will regret it massively.

I know all the hard work, love and care that Simon has put into his car and it is without a doubt one of the best E55 Wagons around.

It's not nice to hava a car sitting without being used for most of the month but working and living in London it doesn't get the time it needs to have a run... I try and do at least one Euro trip a year but this year due to many reasons I missed out. A trip with like minded people is a good way to get back into the spirit of AMG :)

No... not you as well Don. :(

We'll have to meet up then, get some driving done just because. :D
