Can anybody tell me if they have changed the disks, pads, and calipers to some off a car higher in the range.
The reason i want to this is because the brake set up isn't good enough for my liking(i drive like michael schumacher and the brakes don't pull up quick enough;) ) and my last car had upgraded disk, pads and 4 pot calipers using a company called hi-spec. Ihad a look on their web site and don't do any for mercedes. by the way i drive a c180 w202.

any help would be appreciated.

I would imagine that the larger discs+calipers from the higher power 6 cylinder models would fit. Dont know if you would have to change the hub/stub axle also sorry.

Brake upgrades

I would think that brakes from a bigger-engined W202 would bolt right on. Your local motor factor should have a parts book that will list the disc sizes. Going up in disc diameter is good, though you'll be limited by the wheel size. Going up in thickness is good, too, but will obviously require different calipers

I'd use standard parts, good quality high-temperature brake fluid, and Mercedes pads. Only if that doesn't give you what you want would I change pad material

AMG brakes will be the expensive option but discs & calipers from the fastest estate model will be cheaper & 95% as good, I'd think

You may need to change the master cylinder. If you do it's going to be a more complex job. Check what master cylinder goes with which calipers. If you can get a chassis number from a "donor" car with big brakes you can explore all the variations with your friendly neighbourhood Mercedes Dealer parts man

Watch out for the AMG discs, they have serial numbers for traceability and are handed, yes there is a front left and a front right ala race car, this will be because the vains inside are not straight like normal discs but angled to get more air in to help cool them, the man I brought my E55 from said they were the wrong side of £500 for the pair, I dont think GSF do AMG stuff, maybe getting them from Germany is cheaper.......

thanks for the input greatly appreciated:bannana: :bannana:
