Yeh, the SLR would be nice but keep it below £500

Of course if you want a really expensive present you could just ask for some petrol

How about a day out at the Mercedes-Benz World Museum in Surrey (free entry). You can have lunch there and then go out in some of the cars on their high speed handling circuit (this you have to pay for). I think if you pay enough, you can drive the cars (AMGs!!!) but you might be tempted to press the passenger seat ejector button and then floor it to the gates!
