OK guys, sorry if this offends anybody but I feel it's got to be said
This is a PC advice and support thread so can anyone tell me why that virtually every thread ends up with a "well if you were using Linux this wouldn't have happened" type reply to a question about Windows? ~these reply's are not helpful, in fact they are worse than that, they make you sound like some smug little geek sitting there saying "I told you so"
I wish Linux would work for me, but it doesn't now and it won't for the forseeable future, the available software is so limited it makes it as viable as a hydrogen powered push bike to someone who is moving house.
So the last thing I need to see is so called support that doesn't help anybody saying because they use Linux they have no virus problems - I've got an Amtrad 64CPC - that's never been hit by a virus or trojan and never will be - does that mean it's O/S is better than linux?
The moral of this rant?
If you want to help someone give them advice that is helpful
