Blackpool, Margate Or This!

What had you done to deserve this?

I really don't know, my mileage has really ramped up this year and I now spend a lot of time driving in towns that I don't really know very well.

I'm assuming that I changed lanes or approached a roundabout in a different lane to the one ALL the locals use and this upset him.

It's common these days for drivers to have zero tolerance of others so I'd guess that he simply didn't have the mental capacity to shrug off an insignificant irritation (me!).

I was there yesterday, what an odd place.

We found Weston Super Mare an odd place.
We stayed there by chance about 8 years ago for a couple of nights.
Not much of a town
BUT
The pier was quite something.
At night, it was lit up in colours which reflected in the water.
Quite a sight.
I was quite sad when I read the pier had burnt down

As for the rest of the town ...
Well ... To be kind about it ... It's seen better times.

If you head along the promenade - with the sea on your left - and pass the pier, it feels like there's not much more to see.

Keep going, and you come across what I think is the old pier - a wonderful place and quiet eerie. Sadly you can't go on it, but it looks fascinating.

One of the 100 things to see before I die !

Like a lot of seaside towns.
They are declinging as times change, with holidaying abroad often less expensive and easily achievable. Also 50 years ago a trip to the seaside was fab, but now there is endless entertainment that is easily accessible on your doorstep and in today's world kids have the choice of the coconut shy or a PS3 and there is only one winner.

For adults, who are sad, there are internet forums... :o

Weston Super Mare would be a great name for a racehorse, don't you think? ;)

There's a lot of it about..

It's hard work sometimes even if you know the area.
The layout of some of the roundabouts in Stockport is a nightmare, even when you've used them for years.
In fact the Portwood roundabout in Stockport (I am reliably told) is officially THE accident blackspot of the North West. Yeah, a roundabout!
Will they change the layout? NO!
