Hi all,

Had to fit a new calliper and piping to the front offside on my C250D so have bled all four corners with an Ezie bleed system.

Brakes are still a bit spongy but peddle doesnt drift down beyond the spongyness so looks as though there maybe air still trapped.

A buddy came over yesterday and mentioned the ABS unit may need doing also?

Anyone have any experience on what to do?

Modern cars with ABS never seem to have that same "hardness of the pedal" that old simple braking systems used to have.
If you go round most systems (all 4 wheels) a couple of times, I've usually found it to be ok.
I fitted a front and a rear caliper to my type 126 (with ABS) and normal 4-corner bleeding sorted it OK.
I've recently bled one of the E300TDs, and had no reason to feel that it wasn't flushing the whole system.

Cheers.

I always bleed by pressing the pedal, so the pressure is from the master cylinder downwards.

Cheers all for the replies, will give it a go at the weekend and post back :thumb:

We find that often we need to use diagnostics to run the ABS pump to clear it of the old fluid properly.
