Following my previous post, still struggling to get the above error msg fixed.
To recap when switching on, blind spot indicators on the mirrors self test Ok and go off, the 2 error msgs then appear. During use blind spot assist won’t work at all but collision (front) detect works Ok, lane assist also works when using distronic, self park still works Ok as do all the parking sensors.
This makes me think all the sensors are still working but the ECU isn’t happy with the feedback, any thoughts?
STAR diagnostics at my local indie can’t find a definite fault only a coms error so carried out a software re-flash to no avail.
They don’t think there’s an issue with the sensors and now recommend I take the car to a main dealer for further investigation rather than throwing parts at it to try to find a cure.
They mention there have been a number of cases reported which the inside of the rear bumper where the sensor fits has been poorly finished and this can give sensor problems so suggest the dealers may be able to confirm if this is my problem and may offer goodwill towards repair. I’m a little reluctant to jump into this, A) if it’s a manufacturer’s issue will they honour it ? B) I can’t afford MB dealers rates for chasing a fault and repeating the same diagnostics I’ve already paid for I’m already over £300 into this and no further forward.
Anyone have any thoughts or advice on further diagnostics to try to trace thIs fault which appears to be not unheard of?
Many thanks I advance
