A few weeks ago, I had the blown bulb warning light coming on when turning on the headlights, which turned out to be the 5W city driving light in one of the headlights. Upon changing it the warning light was off.

BUT, not it has come on again, but this time even with the engine is started? I can't find any bulbs that are blown, so this has me somewhat puzzled? Is it, as has been suggested, also a warning of imminently failing bulbs, or would this be too ingenious even for MB?

Anders, have you checked

brake light or reverse light, as these arent as obvious but will set the bulb warning off!

Hi,

I had similar problems recently. A couple of days later one of the main beam lights failed due to a connection problem. I have replaced it and tried to clean the connector, but today the problem repeated again. I will surely have to use some connection cleaner spray or similar.

Probably the system monitors the current very accurately.

Thanks for the replies!

As for brake and reverse lights, yes, I checked. But the strange part is that warning light comes on already once the engine is started, not when I actually use any of the lights (e.g. braking, etc.)

Hmmm.... Will investigage further!

Had a similar problem with reversing light - it was something to do with the rear san unit.

One of my reverse bulbs blew ages ago and I've not got around to replacing it yet (swapped it with another bulb that blew, figured the other function was more important). I get no warning at all that the reverse bulb isn't working.

...I had the opposite problem last week. The light comes on in the dash and i inpsect all lights and see that one of the 5w rear cluster parking bulbs isn't on. I buy one and then when I try to fit the new one, understand that it was just a dodgy connection. Fiddled with the old bulb and all okay now.
