Looks like my turbo has gone....Ive not checked it yet but with the play I spotted the other day and the blue smoke explosion that happened today Ill be amazed if its no gone pop.
I looks like its not possible to fit a new cartridge in situ as you cant get to the bottom bolt....pity. So I'm not going to take it out and fit a new cartridge might as well fit a recon complete one.
I'm after info...
My VIN is

WDD212025A069730

2010 E350 CDI Blue Efficiency 231bhp version.

Id like conformation that my turbo part number is A 642 090 86 80....Im pretty sure it is. Looking for a recon one at a sensible price. Any preferred recommendations from the hundreds online?
Thanks in advance.

I’ve heard Essex Turbo’s , Witham ,recommended on the forums buddy .
Your nearest MB specialist down there may recommend a local company as well ?

Sorry to hear this. Being handy with the spanners should hopefully mean that the bill isn’t as bad as it might be. Wishing you the best getting it sorted.

May be cheaper to have your own turbo reconditioned. I used this place when I had my Sierra Cosworth for work done and can recommend them.
Not that far from Bognor either.

Edit.
A brand new turbo for your engine is £1261 38 + vat from the above company for reference elsewhere.
Ouch...recons are starting at sub £300....

Having looked into it, it seems an OK job... just a bit tight on access. Should be OK as long as none of the manifold bolts shear.

Anyone on here dealt with ACP Turbochargers? Prices seem ok for as fully rebuilt original turbo......

LOL....I'll do a few pics. Cant see the point of a video....loads on YT.

Quick question for someone that's done it.....does the exhaust gas temp probe (mounted in the base rear of the turbo) come out most times?....seen a few videos where they struggled or sheared it off or had to use heat. Just wondering if its best to get one on order. That said I doubt I'll have time to do much more than remove it this week....so Ill wait and see. Prob going to fit a new PCV breather though....mine looks a bit oily.

If you are changing the pcv , change this breather part as well buddy .

My breather looks like this....is there another breather in metal in the same area?? Did not notice it....will look later.
