Bonnet Badge.

Hi, Tried to change the bonnet badge, warm it up and used the dental floss to release it, however it seems to be fixed to the bonnet, I can't see how you can get to underside of the bonnet to get to whatever is holding it on.
Any suggestions.
Many Thanks.

Just of the top of my head, I think it sits on two pins (where the glue is), I'm guessing the process is to hear it well and rock it.

Could try praising it with a plastic trim removal tool or something else, I'd mask the area around not to damage the paint.

I don't think that the floss will help as where you debadge the lettering on the boot, but if you could get some sort of string under it - heat & gently pull the string up from either end.

But then again it could be this?

That's made to replace the upright 3 pointed star. Totally different fitting from the flat bonnet badge

Then its the first one, should be much easier now you know whats underneath.

When I renewed mine on the CLS it was VERY tightly held in! It's just two pins into plastic "rawlplugs". It took ages of careful levering to free it.

If it were the second type one should be able to access it from underneath to release the clips as if removing the upright 'gun-sight'

I replaced the bonnet badge on my W209 a couple of weeks ago.
I carefully used a knife, basically got a small enough gap and used the knife to pop the thing about 3 feet in the air with the amount of force I had to use

Hi, Had to drill some holes in the badge and it just fell off, two small pins holding onto the bonnet.
