I do like these,

The smaller badge actually sits in the recess of the bonnet giving it a more factory fitment.

F*** m*!!!

Thanks for asking about my custom flat hood badges. I have two versions
available, the original WHITE STAR Flat Badge, and the New AMG Flat Badge.
Both are handmade from the genuine, 44mm Mercedes Upright Hood Star, part
210 880 01 86, and fits all cars using this part: C-Class Sedans (only)
1995-present (W202, W203, W204 Sport or Luxury, including the 2112+ C204
2-dr Coupe); E-Class 1995-present (W210, W211, W212); S-Class 1995-present
(W220, W221), and CLK Coupe 1998-2002 (W208). Of course the AMG badge fits
all AMG variants among these classes. These badges will not fit the W204
C63 AMG or the 2003-2006 W203 Coupe. In short. If your current upright star
fits your hood divot perfectly on your Mercedes, either of my badges are
direct replacements and will fit exactly the same. Installation takes less
than a minute and requires no tools.
While I do offer shipping outside the US, I'm sorry to say it is very
expensive, so please read all the following for various international
shipping options. Badges shipped internationally are shipped via USPS
"Global Express Guaranteed" partnered through FedEX (delivery 1-2 business
days), with guaranteed tracking and delivery. I have "lost" several badges
using cheaper shipping options, where delivery confirmation ends at the US
border. Global Express Guaranteed is the ONLY method that provides
end-to-end tracking, so it is the only service I will use.

The International price for your limited production, serial numbered, all
metal, WHITE STAR Flat Badge is $120 USD, plus $15 PayPal transaction and
currency conversion fees, plus $50 shipping = $185 total.

The International price for your limited production, serial numbered, all
metal, AMG Flat Badge is $125 USD, plus $15 PayPal transaction and currency
conversion fees, plus $50 shipping = $190 total.

If you have someone in the US who could receive the badge for you IN THE US,
you may subtract $35 from either price, $150 USD for the WHITE STAR, or $155
USD for the AMG Flat Badge shipped to that US address, using USPS Priority
Mail (2-3 day delivery). Make a note of the alternate US address in the
notes field of your PayPal request.

You can also save $40 shipping if you order two badges (either style or two
of the same), because both badges will ship in the same container. For
example, one White Star ($135) + one AMG ($140) + one Shipping charge at $60
(more weight) = $335 total.

I ship overseas as a "purchased goods" transaction for insurance purposes.
So you may be responsible for any import duties imposed. If I ship as a
gift, I cannot insure the package.

Payment via PayPal in US funds is required. No other forms of payment are
accepted.

Also - very important -- make sure of two things: 1) FedEx requires your
local PHONE number, so please add it in your notes field, and 2) be sure
your shipping address is CURRENT in your PayPal account address field. A
serial number is assigned to your Flat Badge in the order payment is
received.

To order your badge, please select the "Send Money" function within your
PayPal account to send a payment to my PayPal account, [email protected].
Please send the funds as a regular goods transaction so I receive your
shipping address (do NOT send as a "gift"). Your choice of payment amount
determines which badge you will receive, so be sure to specify the correct
amount and note which badge you want in your PayPal note field.

May I sell you an AMG or WHITE STAR Flat Badge today?

Errr let me think now....NO!

Bargain :D

$185 ≈ £120 today. Whilst a lot of money for a badge, compare with the other vanity things people buy: watches for >£1000 that do nothing better than a £5 Casio; "personalized" plates for £200 upwards etc etc.

I wonder how they're made?

Slightly better value .....;)

I had missed this when I first read it, but they are just 'inserts' that fit into the upright MB three pointed star base part that he buys in. So a fancy enamel badge, glued into the other part that is genuine MB parts stock. So one needs to subtract the part cost of 210 880 01 86 before you arrive at what he is actually charging for the pleasure.

Intrigued as I was how this was done and how they were made. I took a closer look at the parts as its raining again and I have nothing better to do.

Seems the outer blue and chrome 'Mercedes Benz' ring is part of the original part so this bit is not made, its bought along with the base fitting. This piece is £11.99 here - MERCEDES BONNET STAR BADGE LOGO EMBLEM - Bargain Badges Then the said blue enamel ring is carfully prized out, the upright 3 pointed star removed and a bit of spindle grinding butchery (dremmel) to remove the slightly proud receptacle for the ball joint. Once this is removed the blue MB bezel is re glued and the 'white star' or whatever you want to insert in the hole in the middle is is also affixed. Any enamel badge maker will make you a run of your specification for the insert part only and presto there you have it.

If you look close at the pictures you will see only the very centre part is added.

Clever idea, good margin and fair play to the man.

Hes been selling these from 2008 and even then limited his production to a final few... ehmmm
Quote Jan 2008 ''I've taken inventory... I have enough materials remaining to make a grand total of 350 WHITE STAR Flat Badges. As this is written there are 310 in circulation.

This leaves 40 left to be created and sold before...

terminating production.''

I think if anyone were really interested a £12 speculation on the upright badge and a little light engineering could make you a very individual badge for little money should you so desire.
