Boot 'bounces' when closing...

Noticed yesterday that the boot is now quite hard to close - it needs a real good slam, otherwise it sort of bounces (as if it was locked!) and springs open again.

The catch itself looks ok, and its NOT locked. When I slam it, it holds.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Has the whole lock mechanism slipped on its fixing bolts?
Or the rubber bump stops should be adjustable.
Or the rubber seal might need pushing in on the body panel, but that seems unlikely.

Thanks mate - I'll check that and let you know! Much appreciated.

Spot on - that was the problem!!! The whole lock had dropped, so I just raised it and tightened the bolts. Would not have found that without your advice - thanks a lot!! :-)
